The Holy House of St Francis de Sales

In 1742, the priest from Erice, Giovanni Curatolo, founded a House for Spiritual Exercises dedicated to St Francis de Sales, called the Casa Santa Sales, and a Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament. In the Holy House, in addition to spiritual exercises, a life of charity and piety was practised. The Holy House was the place where distinguished guests passing through Erice were received. The small oratory is completely frescoed with episodes from the writings of St Francis de Sales.
